Making a nice landing, the X-48B Blended Wing Body research aircraft team ends another successful Block 2 flight. |
Project Description: |
The Boeing Co. and NASA's Dryden Flight Research Center are continuing to expand the flight envelope for the X-48B Blended Wing Body research aircraft. This second phase of flight tests, involving higher speed regimes, is being conducted without the aircraft's leading edge wing slats deployed. Slats are flight control surfaces on the leading edges of wings which, when extended, allow the aircraft to take off, fly and land at slower speeds. |
