| Description: |
Avionics technician Keith E. Wright (holding the flashlight) is showing Inspector Gaston A. Moore the new installation of instrumentation on the nose shelf of an F-104 at the NASA Ames - Dryden Flight Research Facility.
The nose section of an F-104 is composed of a shelf that is attached to the bulkhead of the airplane and holds instrumentation enclosed by a nose cone. The nose cone is similar to a drawer. When open it reveals the instrumentation for repairs and new installations, and when closed it is held in place by fasteners for flight. |
