Whatt Sadler's credits include remotely piloting the Helios Prototype.

Wyatt Sadler, AeroVironment test pilot and production supervisor, is the guest speaker at the upcoming NASA Nights at the City of Lancaster Museum/Gallery Nov. 30.

As part of NASA's Environmental Research Aircraft and Sensor Technology (ERAST) Program, AeroVironment has flown Pathfinder, Pathfinder Plus, Centurion and the Helios Prototype. Pathfinder Plus achieved a new world record for propeller-driven aircraft in 1998, by reaching a peak altitude of 80,205 feet.

Sadler has flown all of the AeroVironment remotely-piloted aircraft. He also will discuss flight test milestones of these solar-electric high-altitude research aircraft and the technology development required to reach new goals. The lecture, which begins a 6:30 p.m., is the last NASA Nights for 1999.

December is an off month, but the lecture series will resume in Lancaster and Apple Valley in January.

The Lancaster Museum is located near the intersection of Sierra Highway and Lancaster Boulevard at 44801 N. Sierra Highway.
