Title: Director of Human Resources, Management and Development

What do you do at Dryden?: "Like most folks, whatever needs to be done to make the mission at Dryden successful. The official boundaries of this job involve everything in Human Resources (Personnel): all the training and development functions, and management services and support, such as inspector general, audit liaison, directives and management control activities. We work a lot of activities via matrix in the management services function, so there are people assigned to other organizations working with us on much of that."

What is Human Resources working on for Dryden?: "We are trying to course through the heavy hiring that we're doing. That has taken a lot of energy over the past year. Hopefully we're getting almost fully staffed now, and then we'll just be down to a regular personnel activity. Like other parts of Dryden, we're busy with the ISO 9001 process. We are also investing time in making sure we work as "Team Dryden." I like to talk about it as a part of the Unified Field Theory - that by working with the other aspects of an organization, you get a better product. This means making sure that everybody who needs to know about it is in the picture and involved with decisions. That seems to make things go a little better."

What do you find unique about Dryden?: "The focus on programs and programs success and solving problems. Here, precious time is not spent looking for excuses for why it happened or who to blame, but rather on 'what needs to happen to make this work? ' or ' how can we satisfy this customer's need? ' In summary, here there is more of a focus on what we can do as opposed to what we can't do."

What are your hobbies?: "I like to work with interior landscape, interior design and decor."
