Magnetic Levitation (MagLev)

Magnetic levitation is a concept made popular by its use in amusement park rides to accelerate passengers more quickly than traditional coasters. Similar technology can be used to accelerate an aircraft to supersonic or hypersonic speeds. Examination of the transition from the MagLev launcher to free flight. In particular the coupling between the craft and the launcher and how these two systems work together so that the engine can be ignited and the MagLev device can release the craft.
