Within supersonic and hypersonic research, the inlet for a hyper- or super-sonic craft must be constructed differently than a subsonic inlet in order to effectively control the air as it passes through the engine. NASA-Dryden, in collaboration with several contractors, is interested in testing supersonic inlets via the F-15B Propulsion Flight Test Fixture (PFTF). Work for this project would need to be done on-site in collaboration with NASA-Dryden.
