NASA-Dryden's Aerospike Rocket Test (DART) was the first project to collect data from a solid-fueled aerospike rocket in flight. A continuation of this project is needed to examine variations on the rocket and engine. The fundamental concept behind the Aerospike technology is an adjustable nozzle that allows for higher efficiency throughout the entire flight. The original launch was in Texas but subsequent launches need not be located there. Interest has been expressed in running tests using the Black Brant or Terrier rockets.
